Month: November 2014

Welcome

Hello! My name is Elise Gilchrist. I am a full-time student enrolled in the School of Business – Marketing Management Program at British Columbia Institute of Technology. I plan on graduating in the summer semester of 2016. When I’m not in class or studying I enjoy fitness, health, traveling, blogging, and reading. Some of my personal characteristics that make me a good student and a desirable employee are being optimistic, outgoing, empathetic, and reflective. In addition, I have a number of useful skills and areas of expertise such as great communication, high levels of personal motivation, as well strength in working in teams. After I graduate, I intend to pursue a career in business, either by pursuing an entrepreneurial endeavor, or by obtaining a position in an already established business that fulfills my career desires.

Artist of the Week: Banks

It’s somewhat rare to hear roughly 5 seconds of any song and immediately know that you will love the artist; however, this is exactly what happened when I first heard Banks. Banks toured with the Weeknd during the summer of 2013, she then did a solo tour for her album Goddess this year. Having seen her perform live for the last two consecutive years here in Vancouver, I can tell you she has grown a substantial amount as an artist in a very short amount of time. She is being featured wearing Chanel in Instyle magazine, and might I add, is totally killin’ it. I can’t even come close to deciding on a favorite song of hers, but here you go: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Twix375Me4Q

Weekend Trip to Seattle Summer 2014

Seattle has recently become one of my favourite places to visit. Each different area of the city offers something fun and exciting for people of all ages. On my last trip, my boyfriend Riley and I drove down with our dog Halle. One very nice aspect of this trip was the sheer ease in finding hotels that accommodate dogs. Some of my favourite things in Seattle include the Oddfellows Cafe & Bar, Stumptown coffee, Pike Place Market, and more broadly, the many eclectic neighbourhoods. Here are a few pictures from our trip:
